IIT-JEE Physics previous questions based on Bernoulli's... Continuing with our discussion on Bernoulli's theorem, we take a look at some of the previous questions asked in the Physics paper of IIT-JEE dealing with the same.We would also be trying to find a pattern in the theoretical aspects of the said questions. [ Answers in the next post dealing with Bernoulli's theorem ] *1]...

Question of the Week : Answer to IIT-JEE Physics 2009/Optics Given below is the answer to Optics question from IIT-JEE Physics paper 2009 V is taken by calculating the root of  2 x 10 x [ 20 - 12.8 ] which gives  12 m/s.... now, Considering  the diffraction at the water surface, v/u2  = u/u1  or  dv/dt  = u2/u1 x dv/dt     i.e,  dv/dt  = 4/3 x 12 = 16 m/s. Hence,option...

Question of the Week : from IIT-JEE 2009/Physics /... A ball is dropped from a height of 20 m above the surface of water in a lake. The refractive index of water is 4/3. A fish inside the lake, in the line of fall of the ball, is looking at the ball. At an instant when the ball is 12.8 m above the water surface, the fish sees the speed of the ball as (Take g = 10 ms–2) (a)...

IIT aspirants must get 80 to 85 pc in class XII : Kapil Sibal

Category : News you can Use, Uncategorized

The GOI HRD Minister,Kapil Sibal has mooted the idea that aspiring IIT candidates must get a  gross percentage of atleast 80% in their class XII board exams,if they are to be eligible for the IIT-JEE Exam.If fact, the idea is not a bolt from the blue,as such,as it was in the consideration of a team comprising of IIT Directors, who were constituted to look into IIT-JEE Exam reforms. The main reason for this approach stems from the oft repeated quote, that the exam was being hijacked by the numerous coaching centres, which in turn forced the aspiring students to make a beeline to their classes, thereby diluting their attention for their board exams.  IIT-Delhi professor M Balakrishnan said” ’This proposal has been mooted for almost a year now. There is talk in the ministry and among IITs to take such a decision soon.”

We at Physicsmynd feel quite ambivalent at the idea as our core motto is in aiding the students to learn Physics in it’s most throuogh & enjoyable  manner, without as such having a diversification as that meant for an entrance exam or board exams. However,we feel that the students, tutors & parents ought to be sensitized about the issue, before actually implementing it.

Stop Press : Kapil sibal has now taken a U turn, stating that it’s the IIT’s which have to decide.

Top Engineering Colleges in India > 2009

Category : News you can Use

Given below is a list of the top engineering institutes in India.Eventhough, they are mostly based on media group surveys like those conducted by India Today/Outlook/ORG-MARG/EFY-Mint,some recently started public sector colleges are also added, based on our own internal audit, taking into account their faculty as well as their upcoming infrastructure. We feel that such a fresh criteria would be benefecial in the long term,as one of the main intentions of such lists is to aid the prospective students in selecting colleges which would provide them quality engineering education.

[This list is by no means an exhaustive one and is meant for basic info. The interesting feature,is the upcoming of speacilized insitutes offering exclusive streams……..
